Marcelo has the experience and knowledge to train, ride and show Advanced
Level in Dressage, Show Jumping and 3-Day Eventing Horses; Years of
training have given the opportunity to practice high schooling exercises:
Piaffe, Passage, Pirouettes and 4, 3, and 2 times Flying Changes of lead
Marcelo’s forte,
regarding horse training, is working with young horses, teaching them
basics, like: Working through the back, to be quiet, forward and relax,
aware of the leg and acceptance of the bit, making the horse flexible in
the jaw, poll and neck, shoulders, rib case and haunches, introducing
lateral work as well as flying changes, and always placing attention on
suppleness and straightness. Marcelo uses gymnastic as a fundamental tool
to achieve trust, confidence, relaxation, balance and coordination over
fences. Classical training and riding techniques are consistently used
when Marcelo schools at home or at shows.
Marcelo and his
horse Salomon qualified for the area IX 3-Day Event Championships as well
as for the US Eventing Championships, North Carolina September 2004.
During the area IX
Championships in 2004, they also qualified for the US Eventing
Championships 2005 at Preliminary level.
The learning
process is never complete and Marcelo is constantly looking forward to
improved and to further developed the equestrian arts and be able to
instruct and compete at both low level (bringing up young horses and
coaching riders) as well as high level.
